| Yale University BA Drama Lesly Kahn Professional Acting Classes in Los Angeles The Groundlings School of Improvisational Theater in LA
After I auditioned and was accepted into the acting track of the Theater Studies at the end of my freshman year, I declared my double major in Theater Studies and English. Over the past four years I have studied both dramatic literature and playwrighting extensively; concentrating particularly on the works of William Shakespeare under Professor Harold Bloom. And in addition to the numerous productions I have been a part of, I have taken many higher level acting courses including all levels of Advanced Acting, Speech and Performance, and Shakespeare Acted. After completing my senior thesis for my major in Theater Studies in which I performed the role of Cathy in Jason Robert Brown’s new musical The Last 5 Years (which was very exciting because our production was the very first amateur production of the show ever mounted!), I graduated Yale University in 2003 cum laude with high distinction in Theater Studies. The Kinkaid School I attended the Kinkaid School, a well known private school in Houston, Texas, from sixth grade through twelfth grade where I was a member of the Kinkaid Choir for seven years, the show choir, Forte, for four years, the Kinkaid Acting Company for four years, and Competitive Drama for four years as well. Along with these selective groups, throughout my time at Kinkaid, I also took numerous advanced voice, acting and photography classes. Private Voice Lessons While living in Houston, I took five years of voice lessons from Dr. Joyce Farwell, Interim Director of the School of Music at Rice University and Ms. Kim Wood Sandusky.
